Bayern Munich have confirmed that England international, Harry Kane will be sidelined “for the time being” after suffering a “minor hamstring strain” in the club’s draw with Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
Harry Kane was substituted after 33 minutes with his side trailing, although Jamal Musiala rescued a late point for Bayern.
The initial momentum of the match swung in favour of Dortmund when Jamie Gittens struck the first goal with a powerful effort, showcasing his skill with a dazzling run down the left wing.
However, the situation deteriorated for Bayern shortly thereafter as Kane, their star striker and top scorer, succumbed to injury, raising immediate concerns among fans and the team alike.
Manager Vincent Kompany acted swiftly, substituting Harry Kane to prevent further damage.
Bayern Munich’s official statement revealed the extent of Kane’s injury, noting, “Harry Kane suffered a small muscle fibre tear in his right thigh during yesterday’s match against Borussia Dortmund. After a detailed examination by our medical department, we have determined that Kane will be sidelined for the time being.”
Unfortunately, no specific timeline for his recovery has been announced, leaving it unclear whether he will miss any key league matches in the upcoming weeks. There is speculation that he could potentially sit out the DFB-Pokal clash scheduled for Tuesday night.
Despite the severity of the situation, Kane has expressed optimism about a swift return to action. In a message shared on social media platform X, he commented, “A little muscle strain so just time to recover now. Great header by Jamal yesterday to get a good point. Thanks for all the messages.”
In Kane’s absence, Bayern managed to equalize with a late goal from Jamal Musiala, who scored a well-timed header inside the box without any marking from the Dortmund defence, ensuring that Bayern left with a point.
This season, Kane has remarkably netted 20 goals across 19 appearances for Bayern, underlining his pivotal role in the squad.
Moreover, he has provided seven assists, contributing significantly to his team’s offensive prowess. His overall haul of 21 goal contributions in league play makes him the top contributor among all players in Europe’s top five leagues.
