Four workers at a mining site in Dong village in Plateau State have been shot dead on Saturday evening.
It was gathered that some unknown gunmen stormed the mining site around 6pm and started shooting sporadically at the workers.
During the attack, four male workers were killed and a woman who was injured was rushed to a nearby hospital and currently receiving treatment.
Confirming the attack, Plateau Police Command spokesman, ASP Gabriel Ubah, said armed policemen have been deployed to the area and normalcy has returned to the area.
Ubah added that men of the command have gone after the gunmen, promising that the culprits will be brought to justice.
He said: “We are aware of the attack and four people were killed.
“The Command has deployed armed policemen to the area and calm has returned.”
