The Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, has signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill into law.
Governor Soludo, at the signing event, said the budget titled ‘Changing Gears 2.0 would transform the state into a modern and prosperous homeland.
He explained that the ₦607 billion budget prioritized the five pillars of his administration; law and order, human capital, and infrastructural development among others.
“This budget, themed “Changing Gears 2.0”, marks a significant milestone in our administration’s efforts to transform Anambra State into a modern, prosperous, and livable homeland. We are prioritizing our 5 pillars of development namely; Security, Law and Order; Human capital and social agenda; Environment; Governance and Value System; Infrastructure and Economic Transformation.
“With a 48% increase from the 2024 budget, this appropriation bill prioritizes infrastructure, economic transformation, human capital development, and social welfare. A total of 77% (₦467.5 billion) is allocated to capital expenditure, while 23% (₦139.5 billion) goes to recurrent expenditure.
“This budget is a testament to our administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and people-centered leadership. I am confident that it will drive sustainable growth and development in Anambra State,” he stated.
The Governor of Anambra thanked the state’s House of Assembly for the speedy passage of the 2025 budget.
“Thank you to the Anambra State House of Assembly for their diligent work in passing this appropriation bill. Together, we will continue to work tirelessly to make Anambra State a beacon of governance, prosperity, and equity,” he added.
