Gov Sani Makes Fresh Appointments In Kaduna

The Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, has approved the appointment of James Atung Kanyip as the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs.

The development was confirmed in a statement released on Saturday by Mallam Ibraheem Musa, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.

According to the statement, other recent appointments by Governor Sani include Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed as Commissioner for Finance, Barde Yunana Markus as Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, and Farida Abubakar Ahmed as Executive Director of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC).

Furthermore, Vitus Azuka Ewuzie has been appointed as Senior Special Assistant for Legal Matters, while Francis Damina will serve as Senior Special Assistant for Research and Documentation.

Other appointees include Victor Mathew Bobai as Senior Special Assistant for Public Affairs, Abdulmutallib Isah as Senior Special Assistant for Special Duties, and Abdulhaleem Ishaq Ringim as Special Assistant for Economic Matters.

The statement emphasized that these appointments are intended to revitalize Governor Uba Sani’s administration and improve service delivery.

All appointments take effect immediately.

Gov Aliyu Presents ₦526 Billion Budget For 2025

Meanwhile, the Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmad Aliyu, has presented a budget of ₦526 882,142,484.39 billion to the state House of Assembly for the 2025 fiscal year.

Governor Aliyu said the budget titled ‘Transformational and Infrastructural Budget” would address key issues outlined in the nine priorities of his administration.

He stated that his administration would continue to deliver the dividends of democracy and good governance to the people of the state.

“The budget sums up to Five hundred and twenty-six billion, eight hundred and eighty-two million, one hundred and forty-two thousand, four hundred eighty-four Naira and thirty-nine Kobo (₦526,882,142,484.39) and aims to promote continued growth, transformation, and prosperity in the state.

“This budget will address key issues outlined in the nine priority areas of our administration: Security, Religious Affairs, Education, Healthcare, Agriculture, Water Supply, Empowerment, Economy, and Local Government Autonomy,” Governor Aliyu said.

The breakdown of the budget indicates that capital expenditure gulped ₦349,386 540,354.25, while recurrent expenditure stood at ₦176,295,602 130.14.

Regarding the security challenges facing the state, the governor said over 130 patrol vehicles were procured and distributed to the security agencies in the state to check the nefarious activities of bandits in the state.
