Adamawa State has recorded its first case of Coronavirus.
According to information gathered, the index case was moved to the isolation centre at the state Specialist Hospital in Yola, Wednesday.
The development has been confirmed by the state Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri.
Governor Fintiri during a broadcast on Wednesday noted that the index case has been placed for treatment in an isolation centre at the state specialist hospital in Yola.
The Adamawa Governor further stated that the index case which had come into the state from Kano, had earlier submitted himself after he developed certain symptoms and his sample was taken accordingly.
He added that efforts to trace people who had contact with the index case is on, he called on the people of the state to prepare for lockdown to curb the spread of the virus.
Fintiri charged the people of Adamawa State not to panic, he promised that his administration is doing everything in its power to protect the people.
