The Bayelsa State governor, Seriake Dickson, has expressed satisfaction with the appointment of Mr. Mohammed Adamu as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The governor, who described the appointment of Adamu as a step in the right direction, described, also the new IG. has a professional, with the required experience for the job.
Fidelis Soriwei, the Media aide to the governor, made the governor’s satisfaction of the appointed known in a press statement in Yanagua.
The governor, who said that the new IG. had the ability to reposition the Nigerian Police Force, added that in his course of his interaction with the police boss while he was in-charge of Zone 5, he knew he (Adamu) was up to the task.
He called on Nigerians to support the I-G to enable him succeed in securing lives and property in the society.
“I congratulate him and urge him to refocus the service for greater professionalism and national service. He should raise the bar of professionalism and service in the police.
“I also call for the support of the new I-G, especially at this critical time of our nation’s history, to enable him succeed in the sensitive task of security for our society.
“As long as he does what is right and he is fair to all, he will always have my support and prayers,” Dickson said.
