Kano State Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Dr Muhammad Tahar Adam, has been sacked.
Naija News understands that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje relieved the official of his duty over his unbecoming attitude, including unguarded utterances.
A statement issued by the state government through the office of the State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Mallam Muhammad Garba, accused Adam of running the affairs of his office as personal business.
Garba said the commissioner’s removal was with immediate effect as the governor had already forwarded the name of a nominee, Dr Nazifi Ishaq Bichi of Bayero University, Kano, to the House of Assembly as a replacement.
Garba stressed that Adam who doubled as a member of the state executive council was also found to be running the affairs of his office as personal business and even unilaterally reducing working days for the ministry staff, exempting Wednesdays and Fridays.
He further accused the former commissioner, popularly known as ‘Baba Impossible’ of being disloyal to the government.
The governor, the statement added, wished the sacked Commissioner the best of luck in his future endeavours.
