‘For One Week, No Water, No Food’ – Actress Cynthia Okereke Recounts Ordeal In Kidnappers’ Den

Veteran Nollywood actress, Cynthia Okereke has broken silence on her kidnap as she recounts her ordeal while at the kidnappers’ den.

In a video shared on Twitter, Cynthia expressed appreciation to God and her colleagues for their support and prayers during the trying times.

According to the actress, she is thankful to God for sparing her life, but her blood pressure is currently high.

She added they were not given any food or water for the period of one week, while at the kidnapper’s den.

In her words: “My people, this is mama Cynthia Okereke, God is a faithful God and I have every reason to say Hallelujah in the land of the living. I didn’t know I have people and I have friends, good colleagues, people that care for me, people that can pray for me, verge for me and stand on my behalf.”

“My BP is high but to God be all glory for all of you, your efforts, your prayers and your encouragement. Mama Cynthia is alive, I will act for you people and will continue to be acting for your people. Me, I will be a late comer there, for good one week, no water no food but today I say to God be all glory forever in Jesus name. God will bless all Nollywood for me.”

Cynthia Okereke, Clemson Cornell Finally Released

The top Nollywood stars were released by their abductors on Wednesday night, 3rd August 2022.

The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, made this know in a press statement, stating the actors were released unharmed.

He expressed appreciation to the Nollywood industry and Nigerians at large for the support and prayers during the trying period.

He added that the Guild has also arranged for medical checks and psychological support for the victims.

It is unclear if the Guild paid the $100,000 ramson demanded by the kidnappers or the N1.2 million earlier raised by the Nollywood stars.
