PDP Wins In Bauchi State
Sen. Bala Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party has been declared the winner of the governorship election in Bauchi State by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Mohammed defeated incumbent Governor Muhammed Abubakar of the All Progressive Congress, (APC) at the polls to emerge the winner.
As earlier reported by Naija News, a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Monday, vacated the order barring INEC from resuming collation of results in Tafawa Balewa LGA, clearing the way for the electoral umpire to regenerate, collate and announce the results at the INEC headquarters on Monday night.
Announcing the result, the new collation officer of Tafawa Balewa Local government area, Dr. Musa Dahiru of the Federal University Kashere, said that PDP polled 39,225 votes as against 30, 055 votes scored by the APC.
On the overall, Bala Mohammed of the PDP won with 515,113 votes against 500,625 votes secured by Governor Mohammed Abubakar of the APC.
