Former Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has given a “comic reaction” to the kidnap of district head of Daura, Alhaji Musa Umar in Daura, Katsina state, the home country of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Naija News had reported earlier that the kidnappers stormed Umar’s Daura residence around 7 pm on Wednesday, and sporadically shot into the air, scaring bystanders away before Umar was kidnapped.
This online news platform learned that Umar had just returned from the mosque where he took part in the evening prayer when the incident happened.
Umar was sitting in front of his house with some people when the kidnappers came in a Peugeot 406 saloon car.
The victim, a former officer of the Nigeria Customs Service (NSC), is reported to be the father of Fatima Musa, wife of Mohammed Abubakar, Buhari’s aide de camp (ADC).
Moments after the news of the kidnap broke, Fani-Kayode took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter, to air his opinion on the matter.
The former minister wrote: “Kidnappers storm Daura: abduct President Buhari’s ADC’s father-in-law!”- Nigerian media. “The kidnappers have been technically captured and the President’s ADC’s father-in-law has been technically released!”- Presidency.”
