Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has confirmed the appointment of eight Special Advisers to his administration.
The appointees were revealed as follows: Niyi Adebayo (Budget, Economic Planning and Performance Management); Tayo Adeola (Investment, Trade and industry).
Ebenezer Boluwade was appointed as Special Adviser on Agriculture and Food Security, while Dr Kofoworola Aderiye was appointed as Special Adviser on Education, Science and Technology.
Others include Chief Jide Awe (Political and Inter-Party Affairs), Tope Ogunleye (Bureau of Special Projects), Seun Fakuade (Governance, Reforms and Innovation) and Yinka Oyebode (Media and Strategy/ Chief Press Secretary).
Confirming the appointment in a statement handed to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Yinka Oyebode, said the appointments were made to give the new administration the desired solid foundation to move the state forward.
According to him, the governor’s aides were of cabinet rank, and that Governor Oyebanji has urged them to see their appointments as an opportunity to contribute their time, talent and expertise to the overall development of the state.
Oyebode also disclosed that Gen Ebenezer Ogundana had been re-appointed as Security Adviser to the Governor, with immediate effect. He noted that the special advisers would be sworn-in on Friday.
Gunmen Threaten To Force Soludo To Resign
Meanwhile, the Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo has received threats from some alleged members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
Reports obtained by Naija News alleged that members of the ESN threatened to force Soludo out of office through killings in the state.
They claimed that they would make the state ungovernable for him since he decided to use the police and military for hunting them.
According to The Nation, one of the leaders of ESN, who identified himself as ‘Okwute’ (Awka North and South Commander) in a voice note threatened to continue killings in the State.
He further stated that they would visit the hospital of a medical doctor and kill anybody there if he fails to cooperate with them.
Okwute, in the voice note, stated that he had monitored the doctor and his activities in the town. The alleged ESN leader added that the doctor had not supported their Biafra project.
