EFCC To Look Into Abandoned Projects In Nigeria

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has revealed that it has set up a team to look into the series of abandoned projected scattered all over the country.

Mr. Ibrahim Magu, the Acting Chairman of the commission made this known in an interviews with newsmen in Abuja.

He stated that this move will enable to commission estimate the numbers of abandoned projects and how much was used to execute them.

“The move is to ensure that the contractors complete the projects for the benefit of the people and the development of the country,’’ he said.

The EFCC boss stated that the help of stakeholders in the country will be needed to fight corruption.

The EFCC boss, therefore, called on Nigerians to identify such projects in their respective areas and report to the commission, for necessary action.

“If there is an abandoned project, we will go after them because most people collect money and they don’t execute the contract,” he said.

He added that some projects were awarded without the intention to execute them.
