The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari will address the citizens of the country on the occasion of the 2022 Democracy Day celebration.
Naija News reports the President will make the address on Sunday, June 12 by 7am as part of activities marking this year’s Democracy Day.
This was confirmed in a statement on Saturday by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina who urged all television, radio stations and electronic media outlets to join the broadcast.
He wrote: “President Muhammadu Buhari will broadcast to the nation on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at 7am as part of activities to commemorate Nigeria’s Democracy Day.
Television, radio stations, and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and Radio Nigeria for the broadcast.
Earlier, to mark the 2022 Democracy Day celebration, the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration had declared Monday, 13th June 2022, as a public holiday.
Naija News reports that this was made known in a statement on Thursday by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola.
While congratulating Nigerians on the 2022 Democracy Day celebration, Aregbesola called for support for the Buhari government in its efforts at ensuring a secured, united and prosperous nation.
