The National Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has highlighted those that are eligible to undergo tests, following the outbreak of coronavirus in Nigeria.
NCDC in a post on its Twitter account explained that returning travellers with fever or difficulty in breathing are eligible for the test.
Individuals that have had close contact with confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 are eligible to undergo the test.
The tweet read: “We’ve updated national case definitions for COVID19 and those that can be tested?
1. Returning travellers with fever, cough or difficulty breathing
2. Contacts of confirmed cases with these symptoms.
3. Those with fever and respiratory symptoms in areas of moderate-high prevalence.”
Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases in Nigeria on Monday rose to 131 as the NCDC confirmed 20 more cases.
