Rep Members Engage In Free For All
There was a little drama on the floor of the House of Reps during Wednesday’s plenary as the members had heated arguments on the expected announcement of principal officers.
The normal proceedings were disrupted over the makeup of principal officers for the minority parties.
Naija News gathered that the opposition parties mainly the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) raised voices in protest and moved towards the high table as the Speaker Hon Femi Gbajabiamila was about reading the names of principal officers. 
Gbajabiamila announced Ndidi Elumelu as Minority Leader, instead of Kingsley Chinda which is believed to have been the name contained in the letter sent to his office.
Their action prompted a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who quickly dashed for the mace where it was placed and lowered it down.
This was before the sergeant-at-arms arrived on the scene to secure the mace which is the symbol of authority of the lawmakers in the House.
Meanwhile, their counterparts in the Senate have already constituted and announced principal officers for the upper chamber in the ninth assembly.
