The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has urged the Federal Government to release the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and ex-National Security Adviser under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Sambo Dasuki.
The President of CAN, Samson Ayokunle, made the call while speaking to newsmen in Oyo State.
He also called on the Federal Government to ensure the release of the Christian schoolgirl Boko Haram kidnapped from Dapchi, Borno State, last year, Leah Sharibu.
Ayokunle urged the government to “Put all machinery in motion to squarely address in a better way the issues of insecurity, such as kidnapping, Islamic insurgency called Boko Haram, herdsmen’s attacks and ethnic militia disturbances in North East of Nigeria.
“All the people in captivity have been there for too long, especially Leah Sharibu and the remaining Chibok girls.
“Of course, El-Zakzaky, and the former presidential security adviser, Sambo Dasuki, who are in the hands of the federal government are also due for release.”
