CAF Names Officials For Super Eagles Of Nigeria Vs Libya Clash

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Malawian referee, Philip Nkhakananga, to officiate the Super Eagles of Nigeria 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Libya.

Nkhakananga will be supported by his compatriots, Clemence Kanduku and Joseph Nyauti, who will serve as assistant referees one and two. Additionally, Botswanan Keabetswe Dintwa has been named as the fourth official for the Super Eagles vs Libya clash.

In addition to the match officials, Munkaila Nassam Adam from Ghana will serve as the commissioner, while Issaka Boubacar from Niger and Mayowa Akingbemisilu will take on the roles of referee assessor and broadcast venue manager, respectively.

The Super Eagles are set to host the Mediterranean Knights at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday. The highly anticipated match is scheduled to kick off at 5 pm.

Note that the Super Eagles are going into this game as the group leaders of Group D with four points in two games after recording a win and a draw. Libya are sitting at the bottom of the group with a point in two games.

Other countries in Group D of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers are second-placed Benin Republic and third-placed Rwanda.

Note that the best two teams from the group are expected to automatically qualify for the tournament.
