Biafra: Ikpeazu Takes ‘Major Decision’ In Abia Over Nnamdi Kanu’s Parents Burial

The governor of Abia State, southeast Nigeria, Okezie Ikpeazu, has directed the state ministry of works to ensure the immediate reconstruction of Eze I. O. Kanu road in Afaraukwu Ibeku, Umuahia North Local Government Area (LGA).

Naija News reports that the directive of the Abia State Governor is coming a few days to the burial ceremony of the parents of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

This online news platform had reported earlier that the parents of the IPOB leader, late HRH Eze Israel Okwu Kanu and his wife late Ugoeze Sally Nmeme Okwu-Kanu will be buried on Valentine’s day, Friday, February 14, 2020.

Naija News reports that ahead of the burial ceremony, the Abia State Governor has commenced reconstruction of the road leading to the home of Late Eze Sir I. O. Kanu, Egwukwu II of Afaraukwu and his wife, Ugoeze Sally Kanu.
This online news platform understands that the decision of the governor to reconstruct the road, followed representations made to the governor by the President General of Isiama Afaraukwu Development Union, Chief Ikechukwu Ndubueze, who appealed on behalf of the community for reconstruction.

The Abia state ministry of works has fully mobilized to the site and working to ensure the completion of the project on time ahead of the burial ceremony which Kanu is expected to attend.
