Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad has berated supporters of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, for harassing Chicago State University on Twitter.
Naija News understands that the American University had locked its account on Twitter after various backlash from certain individuals concerning the academic records of President Bola Tinubu.
A check on the institution’s Twitter account indicated that the University had indeed barred non-followers from viewing its post.
Reacting to the development, Ahmad warned that harassing the university was counterproductive and harmful.
He insisted that it is more meaningful to express one’s opinions respectfully, rather than resorting to subtle insults.
Speaking via Twitter, he wrote, “Harassing a respected institution to the point where they lock up their Twitter/X account is counterproductive and harmful; it will never be an achievement. Peter Obi and his supporters should know that it is important to express opinions respectfully and engage in meaningful conversations rather than resorting to tactics that stifle discourse.”
What Wike Told The Director Of Street Lights In Abuja
Meanwhile, Ahmad has disclosed that the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has already started working.
Naija News recalls that Wike had vowed to pull down illegal buildings and structures in the territory as part of efforts to restore the Abuja Master Plan.
In his first press conference, the minister unveiled a 10-point agenda that included, among other deliverables, security, city sanitation, preservation of the Abuja master plan, infrastructure development, restoration of green areas, removal of shanties, blocking revenue leaks, and ground rent payments, among other deliverables.
Speaking via Twitter on Tuesday, Ahmad disclosed that Wike told the director in charge of street lights to make sure he does everything possible to restore lights in all the streets in Abuja.
He said, “Honorable Minister Wike told the director in charge of street lights to do everything possible in the shortest possible time to restore lights in all the streets of Abuja.”
