Argentine and Barcelona forward, Lionel Messi has been crowned the Best FIFA Men’s Player 2019.
Naija News reports that Messi beat off competition from UEFA’s best player Virgil van Dijk of Liverpool and his eternal rival Cristiano Ronaldo of Juventus to pick up this year’s award.
On the other hand, Liverpool coach, Jurgen Van Klopp, was named men’s best coach, while Jill Ellis got the trophy as women’s coach in a ceremony which took place at Teatro all Scala in Milan, Italy 
In a related development, the FIFA Fan Award 2019 went to Silvia Grecco while FIFA best female keeper was Sari van Veenendaal, keeper of the Dutch national team
Similarly, FIFA gave that FIFA Fairplay award to coach Marcelo Bielsa and championship club, Leeds United for their actions v Aston Villa in The Championship last season.
