Bandits And Other Crimes Force 1500 To Move Into Katsina State
About 1500 Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs from Tsafe Local government of Zamfara State have moved to Kankara Local government in Katsina State after series of bandit attacks on their communities.
The IDPs, who are mainly from Buku-Buke, Yartalata, Sabon Gari and Mandaba villages, are staying at Kankara central Primary school.
Already, officials of Katsina State Emergency Management Agency, according to its spokesman, Mohammed Umaru, have arrived to coordinate activities at the temporal camp.
Recall that Naija News reported that the Tsafe council chairman, Aliyu Abubakar, in a chat with news men, revealed that 1700 persons have been displaced in the last two weeks from his council.
He listed, Asaula, Kwadawa, Dogon Kawo, Mandaba, Yanza, Kulutu, Sakkya and Fegin Dakai, all in the eastern Tsafe, as the most affected villages by attacks of bandits, herdsmen-farmers clash among others.
