The son of the late comic actor, Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe, Adesola Omidina, has apologised to members of the Theatre Arts And Motion Pictures Practitioners Association Of Nigeria and Nigerians following his statement after the death of his father on Monday.
Naija News had earlier reported that the talented Nigerian actor, Baba Suwe, died on Monday after battling illness for a long time.
The development was disclosed on Monday by the son of the actor in a post on his official Instagram page.
Adesola, in a video, had shown the remains of his father while claiming that actors in the industry and friends of the late comic actor abandoned him in his time of need.
The young actor has, however, retracted his statement, revealing that his father received the support of the government, prophets, family and fans while he was alive.
He asked Nigerians to disregard the video in circulation where he had earlier condemned TAMPAN and Nigerians for not supporting his father.
Adesola in a post on his Instagram account wrote, “As the son of the veteran actor late Babatunde Omidina ‘Baba Suwe’ I am genuinely issuing this statement to denounce and condemn the video(s) about Baba Suwe’s death that has been wrongly posted.
“The Nollywood, TAMPAN, the government, Prophets, family and fans have been supportive in their own ways. I tender an apology to all the groups, people and families affected! Again, please disregard any inappropriate ‘video’ circulating social media.”
