President Muhammadu Buhari, has been called out by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku, berated Buhari for refusing to order the probe of Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje over allegation of corruption.
President Buhari while speaking had stated that he stopped an investigation into the matter because the State Assembly has the mandate to deal with the issue.
However, Abubakar attacked the president for defending Ganduje, saying Buhari’s excuses were untenable claiming that he is not fighting corruption but fighting opposition.
In a statement by his spokesperson, Paul Ibe, Atiku said “The President has not shown this level of restraint when condemning the alleged corruption of others who happen not to be members of his party, the APC.
“On many occasions, President Buhari has pre-judicially commented on the cases of non-APC members and even acted as judge and jury by convicting them with his utterances in Nigeria and abroad.
“This partiality of the President is most disturbing, as it is a proof that he is fighting the opposition and not corruption.”
