Asari Dokubo Urges Diaspora To Invest In Nigeria, Boost Kalabari Economy

Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB Are Satanic, Worse Than Terrorists – Asari Dokubo

The Da-Amakiri Tubo and Amanyanabo of the Elem Kalabari Kingdom, Asari Dokubo, has called on Nigerians in the diaspora to channel investments into the country, particularly the Kalabari Kingdom, to accelerate economic development.

Dokubo made the appeal on Sunday in his New Year goodwill message addressed to monarchs, chiefs, elites, and residents of the Kalabari Kingdom.

In his message, the monarch urged Kalabari indigenes worldwide to prioritize developing their homeland over acquiring properties in other regions.

He said, “Our people need to come back home to build houses here instead of buying land in other communities. I urge my fellow Kalabari brothers and sisters worldwide to set up businesses here that will boost the economy of the Kalabari Kingdom and provide jobs for our people.”

Highlighting the kingdom’s abundant resources, he pointed out opportunities in oil and gas, marine transportation, agriculture, and tourism, emphasizing the potential for viable investments that could transform the region.

Appeal To Youths

Dokubo also addressed the issue of youth involvement in cultism and violent activities, urging them to abandon such associations.

“Youths should embrace peaceful and constructive endeavours that promote the well-being of the community. Cultism and violent associations harm others and hinder progress,” he said.

Commitment To Community Growth

The monarch reaffirmed his dedication to fighting for resource control, environmental conservation, and the elimination of oppression in the Niger Delta.

He shared his personal journey as an example, noting his decision in 2017 to relocate from Port Harcourt to Obuama.

“I made a bold decision to sell off all my landed property in Port Harcourt and invest in Obuama. My investments have significantly contributed to the growth and transformation of Obuama into a vibrant and diverse community,” he said.
