Arsenal Trash Frankfurt 3 Nil
Arsenal opened their 2019/20 Europa League campaign on Thursday with an impressive win against German club, Frankfurt at the Commerzbank Arena in Germany.
Unai Emery, the Arsenal boss chose to give opportunities to some young members of the squad including
Joe Willock, Emile Smith Rowe, and 18-year-old Bukayo Saka.
This did not, however, stop the Gunners from cruising to a 3-0 win against their Bundesliga opposition, laying down the gauntlet for other clubs in the group.
Naija News recalls Arsenal made it to the finals of the competition last season but were beaten to the trophy by eventual winners and premier league rivals, Chelsea.
Thursday night was, however, a good one for the Emirates faithful as goals from Joe Willock in the 38th minute, Bukayo Saka in the 85th minute and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the 87th minute were enough to give them all three points in the group.
The win is expected to be a huge morale booster for the team ahead of their Premier League clash with Aston Villa on Sunday after a disappointing draw with Watford last time out.
