The wife of legendary singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly called 2Baba, Annie Idibia, has recalled her experience with poverty as a young child.
Naija News reports that the Nollywood actress was expressing her happiness for appearing on the cover of the March issue for Glamour South Africa magazine when she mentioned she once shared a room with three men, who happens to be her brothers.
Idibia in a post on her Instagram page on Wednesday night recalled how she and her siblings would go to the neighbourhood to watch colour tv at another person’s house because their parents couldn’t afford one.
Appreciating her maker for the new height, Annie Idibia said that the daughter of a cook (herself) can confidently tell that dreams actually come true.
Naija News understands that Annie’s post comes shortly after she had revealed she would star in a lead role in the debut season of an unscripted reality TV show, Young, Famous, and African.
In the show, Annie would star alongside her husband, Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz, actor Khanyi Mbau, rapper Nadia Nakai, and a host of others.
Her role in the reality TV show, and her life as a mum and actress, were part of the highlights of the magazine.
Sharing her past on Instagram to enlighten and encourage her followers, Annie wrote: “Yes! Mama, I made it. We made it! This is so so huge for me (Oh God knows) @glamour_sa
“Now just look at that cook’s daughter who used to live in a one-bedroom ‘boys quarter’ with her three brothers; who used to watch coloured television in the next-door neighbour’s room because their mother couldn’t afford a coloured TV at that time. #GraceFoundMe
“My name is Annie Macaulay Idibia. I can tell you that dreams actually come true.”
Referring to her latest achievements, she said, ”It’s Naija o’clock. I can’t wait for the whole world to see Africa; to see us; to see me.”
