Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak is the winner of the EA SPORTS Player of the Month for December 2024 for the first time in his football career.
During an outstanding month, Alexander Isak showcased his impressive skills by scoring eight goals and providing two assists across six Premier League matches.
Isak’s performance made him the league’s top scorer for December, contributing significantly to Newcastle’s success, which included four victories, one draw, and just one loss as they contended for a top-four finish.
Noteworthy highlights of Isak’s month include a fantastic hat-trick against Ipswich Town, as well as goals against Liverpool, Brentford, Leicester City, Aston Villa, and Manchester United. His effort in the thrilling 3-3 draw with league leaders Liverpool has even been nominated for December’s Guinness Goal of the Month. 
Isak, 25, becomes only the fourth Swedish player to win this award since its inception in the 1994-1995 season, joining the ranks of notable players like Freddie Ljungberg, Johan Elmander, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He also makes history as the first Newcastle player to receive the prize since October 2022, when Miguel Almiron was honored.
Alexander Isak’s current scoring streak spans seven consecutive Premier League matches, and on Wednesday, January 15, when Newcastle face Wolverhampton Wanderers at home, Isak will have the opportunity to become only the sixth player in Premier League history to score in eight consecutive matches.
Achieving this feat would bring him closer to Jamie Vardy’s record for the most consecutive matches scored in.
