According to a report monitored by Naija News on The Punch, a two-seater aircraft believed to be about to land crashed at Ekurhuleni, in Gauteng Province, South Africa.
The incident which happened in the early hour of Monday, according to the report by City’s Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS), has claimed the life of two people who are riding on the aircraft.
William Ntladi, the DEMS spokesperson, said the aircraft crashed near Springs Airfield, and that rescuers were called to the scene.
“Both patients were found inside the wreckage when paramedics and rescuers arrived at the scene. They were found to have sustained severe internal and visible multiple external trauma, hence they lost their lives,” Ntladi said.
He added that the Civil Aviation Authority had already begun a probe into the accident.
In another news, Naija News reported that South Africa has given an order to foreign nationals, Nigerians inclusive to take their leave within stipulated hours.
The order was coming after an ugly incident which had a Nigerian man engaged in a fight with a South African police officer.
The order was made available to newsmen on Thursday morning in Lagos, by the president of Nigeria Union in South Africa, Adetola Olubajo, who stated that Nigerians and other foreign nationals resident South Africa’s Keimoes and Upington areas of Northern Cape Province should vacate the country in the next 12 hours, starting from Thursday.
