Gunmen have executed another attack on a railway station in Gidan, Kaduna State just as Nigerians are still grappling with the Abuja-Kaduna train attack by bandit terrorists.
Naija News gathered that the Gidan railway station was attacked on Tuesday forcing railway workers to scamper for safety.
Though the level of damage or number of casualties (if any) is yet to be ascertained as of press time, the attack itself has been confirmed.
It was further gathered by our correspondent that the attack on Gidan train station forced the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, and his entourage who were on a visit to the scene of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack by bandits and were returning to Abuja to stop for some minutes before proceeding on their trip.
Security personnel were later seen to have taken over the area.
Confirming the attack, the president of the Nigeria Union of Railway Workers, Innocent Ajiji, told TheCable that “We are yet to determine the extent of damage.”
The worrisome development which is the second in a space of about 24 hours comes after the bandit attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train on Monday which left several people dead and many others injured.
The invading terrorists used improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to bomb the rail tracks forcing the train to derail before carrying out their attack.
