The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State has expressed confidence in reclaiming the state from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 elections.
Naija News reports that this assurance was made by the party’s reconciliation committee, chaired by Senator Muhammed Mana.
The Adamawa APC has faced internal divisions in recent times, leading to the emergence of factions within the party.
In response, the APC’s National Secretariat established a reconciliation committee to foster unity and rebuild the party’s strength in the state.
The eight-member committee includes notable figures such as Senators Bello Tukur, Abubakar Girei, and Binta Masi, alongside Yusuf Buba Yakubu, Dr. Bridget Zidon, and Isa Baba.
Speaking to journalists after a closed-door meeting held on Thursday evening at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, Senator Mana emphasized the committee’s mandate to resolve internal disputes and unite party members, as directed by the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Mana highlighted that the committee’s focus would be on addressing grievances stemming from the party’s primary and general elections.
He acknowledged that some members felt sidelined or inadequately rewarded for their contributions, promising to work towards reconciliation and inclusivity.
“Adamawa has been a very critical APC state, and we want to make sure that the state goes back to its former position. Now we will go back and tell everybody in the state that it’s time to unite.
“You know, our crisis started from the primary election, the general election. Those people who lost the election, those people who think that they were not properly rewarded for their contribution to the state.
“We want to go and beg them and make sure that the party is unified under the banner of the broom of APC generally, and the national chairman has charged us to go and discharge the duty.”
The committee also plans to strengthen grassroots connections by engaging party members at the most local levels, including units and wards, to rebuild the party’s structure and prepare for the future.
“Apart from appealing to our party members, we will go down to the grassroots, to the unit level, to the local government level, to the ward level, to ensure that everybody comes along and joins the group.
“Our goal is to create a platform for unity and prepare the next generation of leaders,” Mana added.
