The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo is set to meet with lawmakers in the House of Representatives elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
Osinbajo invited the house caucus of the party to the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa for the breaking of the Ramadan fast (Iftar) on Wednesday.
The Deputy Speaker of the House, Ahmed Wase, read the letter of the Vice-President to the caucus at the opening of the plenary on Tuesday.
The invitation is coming less than 48 hours after he hosted Progressive Governors Forum to Iftar on Sunday night to seek their support for his presidential ambition.
Osinbajo in the early hours of Monday declared his intention to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
The Vice President concerning his ambition will today (Tuesday) meet with the Senate Caucus of the APC.
Osinbajo’s invitation to the lawmakers was announced in a letter read during the plenary on Tuesday by Senate President Ahmad Lawan.
According to the letter, the Vice President is inviting members of the APC Senate Caucus to Iftar in the evening at his official residence, Aguda House in the Aso Rock Villa.
