At least six governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were present today at the presidential campaign rally in Maiduguri, Borno State, to woo electorates for Bola Tinubu in the February 25th poll.
Naija News reports that Borno is the home state of APC’s Vice Presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima.
APC chieftains, including state governors, were on Tinubu’s campaign train on Saturday as the former Governor of Lagos State and his running mate toured Maiduguri while they later converged at the El-kanemi Stadium to address supporters ahead of the 2023 general elections.
APC governors present at the rally include the resident Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, Mai Mala-Buni (Yobe); Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe); Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano); Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State.
Other top government officials and chieftains of the ruling party were present at the campaign venue.
It is understood that Shettima led Tinubu and party stakeholders, including APC national leader, Abdullahi Adamu, to a meeting with key stakeholders at the multi-purpose hall of Government House, Maiduguri, ahead of the campaign rally.
The Tinubu-Shettima campaign trail also visited the palace of Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai, before moving to El-kanemi warriors stadium, where the campaign rally was held.
A mammoth crowd was seen along the way to Shehu’s palace welcoming the APC presidential candidate into the state, Naija News reports.
