Presidential aspirant and former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has failed to react to the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the 2023 Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Naija News reports that PDP held its Special National Convention in Abuja on Saturday where the party’s presidential flagbearer for the 2023 general election emerged.
Former Vice President, Atiku won massively with a total vote of 371 to defeat his closest rival, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike who garnered 237 votes.
Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki came third in the party’s primary with a total of 70 votes, while Fayose recorded no vote.
In a chat with The Punch, the former Ekiti governor said he has no response for now on Atiku’s emergence as the PDP Presidential candidate.
He said, “I have no response on any matter, for now.”
Meanwhile, Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State and Chairman, South East Governor’s Forum, has said he would defeat Atiku before 12 noon on election day if he emerges as the presidential flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC),
Umahi, who showed his displeasure at the display of wealth exhibited by some PDP aspirants stated that if he was President Muhammadu Buhari, he would have gotten them arrested.
He stated this during a courtesy visit from the National leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists and National Association of Women Journalists, (NAWOJ) at the new Presidential Lodge, Government House, Abakaliki on Sunday.
