The Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Lere Oyewumi, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders are handling issues relating to the conduct of former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, with tact.
According to Oyewumi, the leadership of the party knows the right decision to take concerning the FCT Minister.
The senator representing Osun West Senatorial stated this while responding to questions raised by journalists during a press conference in Ikire on Friday.
He explained that expelling a politician from a party might be taken out of proportion and politicised, hence the need to exercise tact.
According to Oyewumi, “Wike is our leader, one of the prominent leaders, the [former] Rivers State governor, where PDP did wonderfully well in the last election. He was one of the PDP governors who had never missed a party programme.
“Wike may have some issues that he is reacting to, but I am sure the party leadership and the national working committee are handling it better.
“Removing anybody at times is taken out of proportion and politicised, but I am sure people at the helm of the affairs of the party know the right decision to take at the right time, and they will continue to do that for the betterment of the party.”
