Inhabitants of Gbagir community have staged a peaceful protest over the rise of insecurity in their local government and Benue State at large.
Gbagir settlement, a suburb of Zakibiam in Ukum local Government area in Benue state has over the weeks faced several cases of reported kidnappings and killings, which has become recurrent decimals in the community.
The protesters also said that the community has been under the hostage of local militias since four years ago through criminal activities on a daily basis, especially kidnapping, rape, killing and armed robbery.
The protesters marched through major places in Gbagir with green leaves and sang songs, calling on elders in the area to intervene in the worsening security situation.
