Justice Ahmed Tijjani Badamosi of a High Court sitting in Kano state has adjourned for further hearing a suit brought before it by the Kano Emirate Kingmakers against the state governor and seven others over the creation of four new Emirate councils.
The Plaintiffs’ Counsel, Lateef Fagbemi SAN and the Defence Counsel, Ibrahim Muktar both argued their cases before the Judge on Thursday.
After listening to both counsels, the presiding Judge then adjourned the case till July 16 for further hearing.
It would be recalled that four Kano Kingmakers, Yusuf Nabahani, Madakin Kano, Abdullahi Sarki Ibrahim, Makama Kano, Bello Abubakar, Sarki Dawakin Mai Tuta and Muktar Adnan, Sarki Bai Kano had dragged the Kano State House of Assembly, Governor of Kano State, Attorney General, Tafida Abubakar Ila, Ibrahim A. Gaya, Ibrahim Abubakar II and Aminu Ado Bayero to court over the creation of new Emirates and appointment of Emirs.
Both counsels agreed on July 16 for a continuation of hearing.
