The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, says he will be cutting short his trip to Tanzania for the 50th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference over the recent Xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.
Naija News had reported earlier that properties including cars belonging to Nigerians in the country, were set ablaze by South Africans in the wake of the Xenophobic attacks.
In a viral video, South Africans also looted shops belonging to Nigerians. At least three people were also feared dead during the Xenophobic attacks. 
Reacting to the Xenophobic attacks in a tweet on Tuesday, Gbajabiamila said he would be cutting short his trip so as to enable the leadership of the House of Representatives to consider cutting short the recess and reconvene for a day to address the killings of Nigerians in South Africa.
“Will be cutting short my trip to Tanzania for the 50th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference @CPA_Secretariat and will be leaving today, for the leadership of the @HouseNGR to consider cutting short the recess and reconvening for one day to address the killings of Nigerians in SA.”
