Ondo Lawmakers Resume Plenary After Being Chased Out By Snakes

The Ondo State House of Assembly have yesterday inaugurated a makeshift chamber to conduct plenary sessions following the invasion of the original complex by snakes.

Recall Naija News about two months ago reported the sudden invasion of the hallowed chambers of the Ondo State House of Assembly by snakes, which caused the lawmakers to go on an indefinite recess.

The incident had been blamed on the deteriorating state of the Assembly complex, especially the floor of the house.

Naija News learned that some of the Assembly members, staff and invited Christian and Islamic Clerics, including the Bishop of Akure Anglican Diocese, Rev. Simeon Borokini witnessed the inauguration of the temporary chamber.

The clerics prayed for the lawmakers and the Ondo state government while showcasing the importance of the legislature if democracy were to be sustained.

Borokini urged the lawmakers to work in harmony with the executive arm in order to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
