EFCC Arrests 5 Undergraduates, 12 Others For Alleged Internet Fraud

EFCC Nabs Suspected Internet Fraudsters

The Ibadan zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), has arrested 17 suspected internet fraudsters.

Naija News reports the suspects were arrested in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital on Monday, 7th October, 2019.

Among those arrested were five who claimed to be students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti. The arrest follows meticulous consideration of intelligence reports detailing their alleged involvement in internet fraud and other related offenses.

The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded, the anti-graft agency said.

The EFCC has been trending the #YahooYahooNoBeHustle hashtag to discourage the involvement of people in online/internet fraud popularly called yahoo yahoo.
