The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has allegedly accused Senator Stella Oduah of laundering the N9.5 billion fund for security equipment at airports during her tenure as the Aviation Minister between 2012 and 2014.
Naija News learnt that the EFCC made this allegation against Oduah in an affidavit to support a suit filed before the Federal High Court against the senator.
The EFCC claimed that the ex-minister connived with bank officials to divert the fund and used the money to procure broadcast equipment for Crystal Television Ltd, newspaper printing press, six dredgers, and quarry.
On October 18, 2019, Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Abuja Federal High Court Division granted the anti-graft agency’s prayer and ordered that the items Oduah allegedly procured with the fund be temporarily forfeited.
The judge had then fixed further proceedings on the matter for November 19.
