Ogun Students Set To Embark On Rally In Support Of Amotekun

The National Association of Ogun State Students has revealed that it will embark on a rally in support of Operation Amotekun, a security outfit in the Southwest.

The association noted that the rally is targeted at bodies and groups that are joining hands with external forces to halt the creation of Western Nigeria Security Network.

The National President of NAOSS, Gbemileke Ogunronbi, while speaking on the situation said insecurity in the Southwest has become unbearable and he is wondering why Northerners are kicking against the security outfit.

He condemned the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, for declaring operation Amotekun as illegal.

Ogunronbi called on the AGF to declare other similar security outfits in the North illegal. He noted that the rally would hold in Lagos next week in support of Amotekun.

“It has been brought to our notice that some coalitions and groups of people within and outside South West Nigeria are conniving and conspiring to halt the hard-earned security innovation of our leaders and most especially, the custodians of the six South-West states Operation Amotekun.”

“It is definitely no news that the scourge of insecurity caused by bandits and most especially, the Fulani herdsmen is becoming worrisome and totally unbearable.”

“I make bold to say that I, as the National President of the only indigenous students association in Ogun State, NAOSS, has resolved to join in the struggle of this great cause. I have met with all Chapter Presidents of the association and we have all agreed to hold a rally in support of Operation Amotekun in our various different locations and campuses nationwide.”

“We have also resolved to hold the grand finale next week and the venue for the grand rally is Lagos State. By God’s grace, this struggle shall push through and nothing shall discourage us in this important quest”.
