The Lagos State Government has revealed that it is set to seal 105 estates across the state
The government noted that those that would be affected are individuals without approval from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
The Lagos State government in a public notice published in two national dailies gave the estate owners and developers 21-day ultimatum to tender all necessary documents to the office of the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry.
It noted that failure to do so by March 9 will lead to sanctions.
The ministry’s Assistant Director, Public Affairs, Mukaila Sanusi, in a statement, explained that the move was in furtherance of the quest for a functional, orderly, well-organised and resilient smart city.
“Developers and owners of estates are urged to comply with the directive, which was made in accordance with relevant provisions of the Lagos State Government Notice No. 6 of 1983 on Guidelines for approval of layouts, otherwise estates that fail to comply will be sealed in accordance with the law”
