President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday met with Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State over the activities of Chadian soldiers on the shores of Lake Chad.
Naija News recalls that the President of Chad, Idriss Deby, led military men on Saturday which saw Boko Haram arm store in Sambisa captured.
The attack against the insurgents was in retaliation for an ambush which killed over 90 soldiers.
The action of the Chad President saw Nigerians call out President Buhari over the fight against terrorism in the country.
Speaking to State House correspondents after the meeting, Governor Zulum said he briefed President Buhari on the impact of the recent military actions on Nigeria’s National Security.
The Governor quoted Buhari to have promised to take more decisive and proactive measures towards ensuring that the Boko Haram menace in parts of the country is totally eliminated.
He said: “After critically analysing the situation, we both expressed the belief that time has come to once and for all put to an end the senseless acts of terror by Boko Haram and other criminal elements operating in the region.”
Governor Zulum also disclosed that he briefed Buhari on his administration’s efforts in curbing the spread of Coronavirus in Borno.
This online news platform reports that the North-eastern state has so far not recorded a single case of Coronavirus.
