President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday, approved the appointment of AVM Muhammadu Alhaji Muhammed (Rtd.) as the new DG of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
The appointment is for an initial period of four years and takes effect from 30th April, 2020.
The development was confirmed in a tweet by Bashir Ahmad, social media aide to the President. He wrote:
“President @MBuhari approves the appointment of AVM Muhammadu Alhaji Muhammed (Rtd.) as the new DG of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). The appointment took effect from 30th April, 2020, for an initial period of 4 years in accordance with Section 3 of the NEMA Act.”
