The Federal Government has revealed the identity of the terrorist group behind the attack on St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State.
The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola on Thursday linked fighters of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) to the attack which took place on Sunday.
Aregbesola revealed this while addressing State House correspondents after a meeting of the National Security Council presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to the former Governor of Osun State, the federal government has located the terrorists responsible for the killing of worshippers in Owo.
Aregbesola who addressed the newsmen alongside the Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman, directed security agencies to go after the perpetrators of the attack and bring them to book.
The minister added that the church was not attacked based on ethnic agenda.
He called on Nigerians to work together to defeat the terrorists.
Recall that gunmen killed worshippers and injured several others in the attack on St. Francis Catholic Church Owo, Ondo State.
The incident has left scores of people injured, while several others are receiving treatment in hospitals.
