After spending two months abroad on a medical trip, former Military President, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has returned to Nigeria.
Naija News learned that the former Nigerian leader shuttled between Switzerland, Germany, and France during the two-month routine medical check abroad.
It was also gathered that IBB as he fondly called left the country in January to evade the controversy that might come with the just-concluded presidential election in Nigeria.
But according to The Leadership, Babangida, who was accompanied by his first son Muhammad and daughter Aisha, arrived in the country via Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Thursday.
IBB and his two children and one of his aides were received at the Abuja Airport by his second son Aminu and former National Security Adviser, General Gusau.
Some minutes later, the former leader and his entourage boarded a private jet that landed at the Minna Airport in Niger State.
IBB Congratulates Tinubu On Presidential Election Victory
Recall that IBB had congratulated the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, following his victory in the 25th of February, 2023 presidential election.
The former military president commended Nigerians for coming out en mass to vote for their preferred presidential candidate.
IBB, in a statement released through his media aide, Abdulrauf Idris, called on other presidential candidates to join hands with Tinubu in the business of repairing the nation.
According to IBB, the work of nation-building requires that all hands must be on deck.
He had said, “This is a bright moment for Nigeria, we have to take our destiny in our hands and make things work for us as a nation. We cannot continue to do things the same way, and I believe that God will make things work for this country again.”
IBB commended INEC for conducting an election he believes will lead to a new Nigeria.
