Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has asked the Nigerian Government to extradite Simon Ekpa, a self-acclaimed disciple of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to the country.
Uzodinma stated this on Friday when he hosted the new General Officer Commanding 82 Division, Hassan Dada, at the Government House in Owerri, the state capital.
The governor said the government should bring Ekpa back to Nigeria to also join in the sit-at-home in the South East, following a total lockdown he declared in the zone from July 3 to 10.
Uzodinma said Ekpa, who is based in Finland, should be made to face the law for continuously issuing the sit-at-homes in IPOB’s and Kanu’s names.
He said: “What is topmost in our cases is this popular sit-at-home order. There’s one man called Simon Ekpa somewhere in Finland.
“It is our hope that the security agencies, particularly the military, working with the federal government, will be able to either bring Simon Ekpa back to Nigeria to also sit at home with us or be made to face the wrath of the law.”
