Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad has reacted to the replacement of ministerial nominee, Maryam Shetty.
Naija News recalls that President Bola Tinubu had written the Senate asking them to withdraw the nomination of Maryam Shetty as a Minister, replacing her with Mairiga Mahmud, from Kano State.
The President also added Festus Keyamo, SAN to the list of ministerial nominees.
Reacting to Shetty’s removal, Ahmad expressed confidence in the former nominee’s abilities.
He stated that her passion for public service and qualifications were indisputable.
He subsequently wished her well and hoped that her resilience and determination would guide her towards new and better opportunities.
Speaking via Twitter, Ahmad wrote, “I have always admired @MaryamShetty’s dedication and passion for public service, and her qualifications are indisputable. While this might have come as a disappointment, I believe that her resilience and determination will guide her toward new and better opportunities where she can continue to make significant impacts. Allah ya sa haka ne mafi alheri.”
Yakasai Reacts To Shetty’s Replacement
Meanwhile, The former governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in Kano State, Salihu Tanko Yakasai has reacted to the withdrawal of the nomination of Maryam ‘Shetty’ Shettima from the ministerial list.
Reacting in a Twitter post, Yakasai said he pitied the health practitioner over the withdrawal of her nomination, irrespective of whether she is qualified to be a minister or not.
He said the withdrawal of her name was embarrassing and she might never recover from the humiliation, saying that the process that nominated and withdrew her name should be blamed.
He wrote: “I pity Maryam Shetty, irrespective of whether she is qualified to be a minister or not. I blame the process that nominated her and then withdrew her name.
“This is embarrassing, and she might never recover from this humiliation.”
