The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, on Tuesday met with his predecessor, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Naija News learnt that the duo, who met at the Presidential Villa in Abuja today, were seen shaking hands and exchanging pleasantries.
The meeting is coming following the chaotic incident in Rivers State on Monday over alleged impeachment proceedings launched against Fubara by the Rivers State House of Assembly.
According to Channels Television, Fubara and Wike were in the Villa for a meeting of the Nigeria Police Council, a constitutional body that oversees the organisation and administration of the Nigeria Police Force.
President Bola Tinubu chairs the Council, this news platform reports. The governor of each state of the Federation, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission and the Inspector-General of Police make up the Council.
The Nigeria Police Council last held a meeting on June 4, 2021, under the then-administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
