Sylvester Oromoni: Justice Will Be Done – Buhari Assures Nigerians

President Muhammadu Buhari in Wednesday stated that no one involved in the killing of Sylvester Oromoni, a student of Dowen College Lekki, Lagos, will be spared.

Naija News reports that Buhari stated this in a statement released to newsmen and signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.

Buhari assured that the killing of Sylvester Junior must act as a trigger leading to a permanent solution to recurring problem of bullying and cultism.

He said: “I share the anger and grief up and down the country following this incident. On behalf of my family and I, and the government of the federation, I convey our heartfelt condolences to the Oromoni family, the government and people of Lagos State and give the firm assurance that this incident will be thoroughly investigated and the appropriate punishment meted out to all those who are culpable.”

The President also urged the Police to continue the ongoing investigation until they get to the root of the matter in order for the law to take its course, assuring that justice will be done, no matter who is involved.

Recall that the late Oromoni was reportedly beaten to a pulp which led to his deathfor allegedly refusing to succumb to pressure by fellow students to join a cult.

Naija News reports an uncle to the deceased, Perry Oromoni, took to Twitter to claim that his cousin was killed after he rejected attempts by some students in the school to initiate him into a cult group.

He stated his cousin mentioned five names responsible for his injuries before his death, confessing that they tried blending him into a cult.

The school, Dowen college denied the allegations, claiming that the deceased sustained injuries while playing football and was given immediate medical attention by the school’s resident nurse, claims the Oromoni family has denied.
